The Cabinet (Import from Socials)

Found a movie recommendation on TikTok or Instagram? Copy the link and paste it into the Cabinet tab in the Add screen. Cue will process the link, extract the title, and let you pin it instantly.

The "Surprise Generator"

Perfect for when you know a genre but don’t have a specific title in mind. In the Add (+) tab, tap the Magic Wand icon at the top right. Select your favorite genre and streaming platform, and Cue will generate a fresh batch of hits tailored for you.

Radar Discover Screen

Explore curated moods and trending tags in the Radar (Compass Icon) tab. Tap tags like "Certified Fresh" or "Coming Soon" to see what's trending across all genres.

Cue is free to download and use with ad-supported recommendations. You can upgrade to Cue Premium to remove ads, unlock unlimited mood boards, and support independent on-device AI development.

We support all major platforms including Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+, Hulu, Apple TV+, and Amazon Prime Video. You can filter your "Radar" results to only show what is available on your specific subscriptions.

Yes. Cue is a local-first app. Your movie tastes, watchlists, and "Date Night" matches are stored directly on your device hardware, not on our servers. We never sell your viewing habits.

You can generate a transient QR code from your shelf that your partner scans. Cue then cross-references your unwatched movies to find "shared interests" instantly, without requiring either of you to create an account.

Cue is currently available for iOS. An Android version is in active development and slated for release later this year.

Data & Synchronization

Cue is a local-first application. All your movies, tags, and taste profiles are securely stored directly on your device's hardware using a local database. Because there are no centralized accounts or cloud sync features, your data will be permanently lost if you delete the app or lose your device. We plan to build dedicated cloud backups in the future with the support of user donations.

1. Local-First Architecture

Cue is built to respect your privacy. The core application logic and database operate entirely on your device. We do not run proprietary servers to collect, harvest, or monetize your personal movie database, taste profile, or viewing habits. All scanning features (like reading screenshots or QR codes) are processed securely on-device.

2. Third-Party Services

To provide you with rich metadata, trailers, and monetization, Cue utilizes the following third-party APIs and SDKs. These services may collect device identifiers, crash data, or IP addresses subject to their own privacy policies:

The Movie Database (TMDB): Resolves search queries and provides movie imagery.
Google AdMob: Serves advertisements in the free version of the app. Google may use advertising IDs to serve personalized or contextual ads.
YouTube/Google: Powers the in-app trailer playback.
Apple (App Store): Processes subscriptions and payments securely.

3. Your Choices

Users can upgrade to a premium subscription to remove third-party advertising tracking completely from the app experience.

1. Attributions & API Usage

This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB. We rely on their extensive community-driven database for posters, cast data, and synopses.

Furthermore, by utilizing the in-app movie trailer feature, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service (https://www.youtube.com/t/terms) and Google Privacy Policy.

2. System Integrity & Data Loss

Cue is provided "as is" and without warranty. Because Cue stores your library locally on your device, you are solely responsible for ensuring your device is backed up. We are not liable for any data loss, corruption of the database, or failure to recover your saved movies.

3. Acceptable Use

Cue is intended for personal, non-commercial use. Users may not reverse engineer the application, scrape its automated TMDB endpoints, or bypass the in-app purchase systems.

4. Purchases & Subscriptions

Premium features are offered via auto-renewing subscriptions processed by Apple. You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Apple ID settings. All purchases are final per App Store guidelines.
