Absolutely. Cue is designed with a local-first philosophy. Your entire library, mood boards, and recommendation logic live on your device hardware, meaning you can browse and organize your films anywhere, even without signal.
Instead of comparing you to other people's habits, Cue analyzes the specific themes, genres, and aesthetics of the movies you save. It builds a private mathematical model of your preferences that evolves as your library grows—all without ever sending your viewing history to a server.
On-device intelligence
Cue ranks movies directly on your device using your shelf, likes, dislikes, watch status, subscriptions, mood signals, detail-view behavior, and a lightweight contextual bandit learner. The result is a stronger recommendation system without uploading your personal taste profile to a server.
The recommender uses compact local scoring and bandit-inspired learning instead of collaborative tracking. It learns from what you save, open, like, hide, pause, and finish, then balances that with practical movie-night constraints.
Designed by Jeffrey AsanteWhen Cue knows little about you, it explores more and leans on quality. As your library grows, it becomes more selective and taste-driven.
Every title is ranked with genre affinity, provider fit, cast signals, watch status, runtime, metadata quality, freshness, and feedback.
Cue uses contextual-bandit exploration to learn what actually earns useful actions, while still protecting the strongest picks at the top.
Your taste weights, watch activity, hidden titles, and recommendation ranking remain on the device. No personal taste graph is uploaded.
How ranking works
Cue starts with your private shelf, likes, dislikes, hidden titles, mood boards, active subscriptions, and watch status.
The engine blends quality, taste affinity, runtime fit, streaming availability, metadata confidence, and viewing intent.
Likes, saves, hides, dislikes, watches, and meaningful opens adjust local bandit weights for movie features.
TF-IDF, genre overlap, provider similarity, media type, franchise signals, and bandit rewards prevent the final list from feeling repetitive.
The ranking model is designed to run fast in Flutter with no extra cloud dependency. It gives Cue an intelligent movie-night brain while preserving the simple promise: your library belongs to you.
